President Barack Obama and Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani held talks on Tuesday in order to attempt to defuse the tensions which have marred their countries’ relationships since last May’s U.S. operation in which Osama bin Laden was killed, and NATO air strikes on a border post six months later which led to the death of 24 Pakistani soldiers.

The latest Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey published a few hours ahead of the Alabama primary indicates that three of the Republican presidential hopefuls are in a virtual tie in the Yellowhammer State.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney won six states on Super Tuesday, out of the 10 which were holding contests. He came in pole position in Alaska, Idaho, Massachusetts, Ohio, Vermont and Virginia. Former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum claimed victory in three states, while former House speaker Newt Gingrich won Georgia. Texas Congressman Ron Paul failed once again to obtain the majority of the ballots in a single state.
